MONDAY CLUB GOLF |
SOME COMMON RULES
PLEASE PRINT A COPY TO CARRY IN YOUR BAG IF YOU WANT A
REMINDER
|
WHITE POSTS OR COURSE BOUDARY OUT OF BOUNDS |
1 SHOT PENALTY ADD 1 TO YOUR SCORE PLUS THE EXTRA SHOT. |
Out of bounds -- 1 shot penalty from where you played your shot.
This penalty and rule also applies to lost balls not in marked hazards. If you are unsure
where the ball has gone play a provisional ball. YOU CANNOT PLAY FROM ‘OUT OF BOUNDS’ OR TAKE A DROP
NEARBY – THAT IS WHY YOU PLAYED A PROVISIONAL BALL. |
|
WATER HAZARDS YELLOW AND RED POSTS |
1 SHOT PENALTY ADD 1 TO YOUR SCORE PLUS THE EXTRA SHOT. |
1 shot penalty
from behind the hazard (usually indicated by yellow
posts) in line with where the ball entered -- as far back as you want
to drop (red and yellow).
Additionally with a red post lateral hazard you may drop under 1 shot penalty within 2
club lengths of the point of entry no
nearer to the hole. Or from where you originally played your
shot with 1 shot penalty. NOTE if in
doubt as to where the ball may have gone off
the tee play a provisional – this is only to
keep the game moving. IF YOU HAVE FOUND
YOUR BALL IN THE HAZARD AND IT IS PLAYABLE YOU CAN
PLAY IT BUT DO NOT GROUND YOUR CLUB OR MOVE ANY LOOSE
STONES OR TWIGS. |
|
UNPLAYABLE BALLS YOU CAN DECIDE AT ANY TIME IF YOUR BALL IS
UNPLAYABLE |
1 SHOT PENALTY ADD 1 TO YOUR SCORE PLUS THE EXTRA SHOT. |
1 penalty shot
taken from where you originally played your shot. 1 penalty shot dropping the ball within 2 club lengths of the unplayable ball position. 1 penalty shot dropping the ball as far back as you want
keeping the point where your unplayable ball lays in a direct line with it
and the flag on the green you are playing to. |
|
BLUE POSTS
(GROUND UNDER REPAIR), BUGGY PATHS, STAKED TREES OR IMMOVABLE OBJECTS |
NO PENALTY |
Or ANY other free relief situations which
may be listed on your card as a ‘local rule’ -- free
drop within one club length of the NEAREST
point of relief from the interference. Determine the point where you are clear of the situation either by stance or swing-path relief – place a tee peg where your club will be on the ground and drop your ball within 1 club length of this position. |
|
GREEN
POSTS OR ROPE INDICATING A YOUNG |
NO PENALTY |
There is no need to find the ball if there
is agreement that it went into the area. Free drop within 1 club length of the nearest point of relief as above for free relief. |
